How do I figure cloth size?
Tables unfortunately are not all standard, nor are cloths. The best way to figure the cloth size most suited for your table is to start by measuring the width of your table. Then figure how much drop you wish. For sit down affairs the drop should be between 8" & 14". For a buffet or special layouts you may wish floor length. This is usually 24" to 30".

Now double the drop length and add this to the width. Select a style cloth that has a range in this width. You may have to adjust your desired drop to accommodate your selection of style. Take the width of the style you choose and subtract the width of your table and divide by two to fine your actual drop.

Now measure the length of your table and add double the drop that accommodates your choice of style. From the range of length in your selected style you should find a length close to this. If your needs fall in between two sizes take the longer of the two sizes. Woven tablecloths will usually shrink more in the length than in the width.

Example 1:
· 42" wide table
· desired drop10" (double this = 20")
· 42 + 20 = 62"
· style X has a width of 66"
· 66" - 42" = 24" (divide this by 2 giving a drop of 12")
· length of table is 62"
· add 62" + 24" = 86"
· best cloth length size in style X is 88"
· you will order a 66"x88" cloth in style X

Example 2:
· 36" wide table
· desired drop 28" (double this = 56)
· 36 + 56 = 92"
· Style B has a width of 90"
· 90" - 36" = 54" (divide this by 2 giving a drop of 27")
· length of table is 96" (8')
· add 96" + 54" = 140"
· best cloth length available is 144"
· you will order a 90"x144" cloth in style B
· You will have to lift the corners. A tuck and a bow might be all you need.

Note of interest - if you wish a floor length drop for a rectangular table you may need to use an oval cloth so the corners will not be to long. If the table is to be set against a wall you may get away with a narrower oval as you will not need coverage in the back. You may still wish to use separate side skirting to finish the ends.

Rounds are easy - take the diameter plus two times the required drop.

Example 3:
· 36" diameter table
· 30" drop (double this = 60")
· 36 + 60 = 96"
· Style C has 90" rounds, which is what you will order giving you a 27" drop.
